Recruiters, HR professionals, recruitment consultants and recruitment agencies have a hugely important role to play within the agile community.

They are often the first port of call for a client using or adopting agile, and the candidates they put forward will be responsible for the success or failure of the agile project, even an entire agile transformation. On top of this, traditional HR policies and procedures can conflict quite strongly with key agile principles, and hinder agile adoption.

When agile projects and transformations fail, it is very often agile that gets the blame. So if recruiters and HR professionals don’t get it right, the whole of the agile community suffers.

Agile For Recruiters believes we can either complain about this, or we can get on and fix it.

Agile For Recruiters has been set up by Gez Smith of Bunny Picnic specifically to fix this problem, by raising the standard of knowledge about agile and its associated frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, XP, DSDM, etc) amongst recruiters, HR professionals, recruitment consultants and recruitment agencies.

Gez is a Certified Scrum Professional, with over 10 years experience in agile and agile transformation, for clients including 10 Downing Street, HMRC and Lloyds Banking Group. Having recently spent two years studying agile in depth as part of an MSc at Bristol University’s School of Management, he is also an associate lecturer in digital communications at the University of the West of England.
